My dear friend Brook (native Texan), whom I studied with at Semmelweis University, has settled down in Budapest with her husband.
I know from my own experiences that it is really hard to find a doctor when you first start studying – especially an obstetrics and gynecology clinic.
Brook has sent me some information regarding Women’s Care, a clinic that offers gynecology and obstetrics services with specialists that speak fluent English (and Brook works there, she’s amazing!).
There are many students in Budapest who don’t know where to find a doctor – particularly
one who speaks English. Women’s Care offers gynecology and obstetrics services to both
foreigners and natives living in the city, as well as to travelers in search of assistance while
they’re here. Our comfortable city center practice offers personalized services and an
environment where patients can feel free to address questions concerning their health.
What services do you provide? We provide basic gynecology and obstetrics services
including, but not limited to, annual check-ups and routine Pap smears, emergency and long-
term birth control, STD testing, gynecologic problem visits, prenatal care, obstetrical care and
ultrasound. If there’s a service that we can’t provide in the office, we’ll do our best to arrange
for your needs to be met elsewhere.
How much does it cost? We offer highly competitive prices. Foreigners are often taken
advantage of; we can assure you that that won’t happen here.
How long does it take to get an appointment? Ordinarily, we’d see patients within a few
days. In the case of an emergency, we’d arrange to see them as soon as possible.
Please note that if we are unable to answer your phone call immediately, then we will return
the call as soon as possible as long as your number has registered on the English line.
Where is Women’s Care? We’re conveniently located on the 4-6 tram line near Mechwart
Liget, not far from Mammut shopping center.
We would like to encourage all of you to take care of your health during your stay in
Budapest, and please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can assist you.
